According to our estimates, 19% of the campus is accessible to 11'500 students, who make up 63% of EPFL members. Our proposal is the redistribution of the non-accessible spaces within EPFL machine, evenly between the different communities by densifying the existing underoccupied offices. By non-accessible spaces we mean any space that is a public infrastructure but not open to all members at all times. To do so, we propose legal tools in order to redistribute the decisional power. Afterwards, our design strategy reinforces the constellation of shared infrasturctures by constructing a balcony around the Ada Lovelace Square. Our interventions aim to reappropriate hostile and inefficiently used spaces while increasing the permeability between the different EPFL communities.
