Imagining the Campus of Tomorrow

Alexandre Vong Srivastava

The presentation gathers the collection of work produced by the (un)studio members in the form of an internal presentation destined for the EPFL Direction body. An overview of the history, investment, the cultural and the social value of the Ferme de Bassenges highlights its place in the larger context of the EPFL Campus. We then question what constitutes the identity of a Swiss University Campus and the challenges that are faced. Finally, a proposal for a solution to address the sustainable growth of the University Campus is made in the form of a proposition of extending the current Bernoulli Center building. The strategy of densification through elevation leverages cutting-edge EPFL research emphasizing the use of prefabricated local wood structures. The proposal demonstrates a dynamic and stimulating space for research and collaboration.
