The project aims to create a global food journey experience that highlights the challenges of unbalanced resources in agriculture and promotes the value of local food. It utilizes obsolete silos in urban areas as exhibition sites, which serve as reminders of the changing dynamics in the agricultural sector.
The project connects multiple nodes around the world, representing cities facing agricultural resource imbalances. Each node is part of a global network, and a virtual/real hybrid exhibition connects them. The focus on diverse regions, including Denmark, USA, Argentina, Hong Kong, and Australia, allows for an exploration of global agricultural impacts and sustainable solutions.
The exhibition utilizes architectural strategies of boolean and addition operations. The shared space in each silo uses screens to project the changing agricultural landscape in the cities, highlighting the effects of climate change on local agriculture. The virtual connection part fosters dialogue with experts from around the world, promoting knowledge exchange and inspiring sustainable local food systems.
The continuous red wall serves as a guiding element within the exhibition, symbolizing interconnectedness in global agriculture. It leads visitors through the narrative of the food journey and carves out key spaces, such as the exhibition area and auditorium, where virtual connections and discussions take place. The design also includes a dining hall for communal dining and further discussions.
The virtual exhibition features an overlapping space that allows visitors to engage with dynamic visual projections of changing agricultural landscapes under the influence of climate change.
Overall, the project aims to raise awareness, stimulate dialogue, and foster global collaboration to address agricultural challenges and promote sustainable food practices.
