Marcello Clerici
Laszlo Bela Baudriller
Marcello is a tormented person. He wants to counterbalance the trauma he experienced in his childhood by becoming as normal as possible. He conforms to the society that surrounds him; an interwar Italy that has become fascist.
Growing up as a socialist student, he quickly changes his ideology and adopts a bourgeois lifestyle. He goes so far as to work for the secret police and betray his teacher.
When the power falls, he meets the rapist of his childhood whom he thought he had killed, he built himself on a murder he did not commit. The empty look, lost in his own identity, he must find a refuge to rebuild himself, an introspective space for himself, his wife and his child.
