In the heart of the Faverges neighbourhood in Lausanne, this project invites residents to transform everyday waste into shared treasures. Peelings, cardboard, and glass bottles become the raw materials for homemade syrups, board games, and decorations creations crafted to be shared and enjoyed together.
These creations come to life in two newly created public spaces: a recycling workshop for cardboard and glass, and a communal kitchen where residents can experiment with recipes and flavours.
Nestled along the Vuachère River, these spaces are set in a lush green haven. The peaceful stream becomes the thread that weaves the project together. The architecture is light, wooden, and almost transparent gently blending with the trees, following existing paths, and creating new ones. Extending the “Fox Trail,” a new path emerges, leading and guiding residents toward places of calm, connection, and creativity.
But the project doesn't end there. The neighbourhood’s homemade syrups travel beyond, carried by small mobile syrup bars that bring the spirit of Faverges to the wider city of Lausanne.
Here, recycling means reinventing. It means doing things together and finding wonder in the everyday.
