Type
PALACE
The notion of a palace encompasses the idea
of a building meant to represent the community
for which it is intended, often acting as the
support of a narrative, a story or its values.
Historically, the palace has often taken the form
of monumental architecture, designed to assert
the power of the person who commissioned
it, whether a political, religious power or an
important personality.
Later, the evolution of political contexts
led to another complementary notion of the
palace as a grandiose, generous and free
space allowing flexibility of use. A democratic
and libertarian form of space in its ability to
accommodate everyone, which encourages the
expression and emancipation of personalities.
In this way, architecture, by becoming the
medium of a collectively created narrative,
becomes a popular palace.

Manifesto
PALACE ★★★★★
We would like to transform the palace of the
institution into a palace for students.
The monumental void of the SG Hall
represents everything but the effervescence that
brings this building to life day and night. But
for whom is this monumentality intended then?
Until now, the space has served the purpose
of the institution. White, sterile and aseptic,
nothing can detract from the dead calm that
reigns here. Through our intervention, we aim
for the monumentality to reflect its community,
for its rhythm to be synchronized with that of
the students. Everyday life and exceptional
moments follow one another, a flexibility made
possible by mobile devices.
The appropriation of this space
involves its alteration by its community. The
sum of individualities magnified by its unity, its
coexistence in one space.
