The memory of the slab as an entity and identity is as shattered as its remains; la Dalle has been politicized since the very beginning and fragmentally demolished since. Refusing its final demolition, Phantom Foundations proposes another way forward. La Dalle is repaired in layers, serving interests of local businesses and associations as well as harnessing the cultural project of Cité de la Danse. Strategically using care work and reparative design to increase visibility, accessibility and usability, la Dalle becomes a space for organization and neighborhood to root.
