Pedagogical reconversion aims to revise our schools of architecture’s design. It takes shape in Turin’s former general markets (1933) and emerges in reaction to the polytechnic’s space shortage, without however seeking any solution to it. As the énoncé théorique Architectural Spatial Logistics gave a new reading to the Italian industrial city, this academic project aims to construct a new narrative for our contemporary architectural pedagogy. This pedagogy assumes architecture as a collective act and aims to educate the architect and the landscape architect in a common place concerned about environmental studies: an ingredient neglected by industrial development. Architecture shapes the landscape of society, which is why it is crucial today to educate it. The school will therefore be a permeable space. Open to nature and the city. A place that will welcome and invite citizens into its education and debates. Gardens will be spaces dedicated to the construction of long-term experimental projects and will allow to study our natural and built environment. The school will assume its status as an unfinished place to be built collectively through the pedagogy of making. Students and teachers will imagine the future of their own school. Pedagogical reconversion will be a school for now, for tomorrow and for the day after.
