Officetel

Daria Nikolaeva

The project is a reinterpretation of the Korean officetel typology in a soil-friendly environment. Officetel represented a loophole in the legal situation in Korea when office space could not be legitimately used as housing. Therefore, officetels look like office buildings but are in fact tiny apartments of various configurations. Nowadays, home offices are hardly surprising, and many apartments also serve the function of office space.

However, in this project, the second, back part of the officetel becomes a garden, its own green patio, where you can grow food, sunbathe, and shower among the greenery. The building utilizes innovative water management systems, collecting and filtering rainwater for reuse. Wastewater is treated naturally before being returned to the environment.
