Based on the credible and compelling future scenarios for Burtigny described in the previous semester each group of students developed a project manifesting itself in a set of rural infrastructures questioning common forms of land management and ownership, promoting greater equity and resilience of the local communities. We were interested in new approaches to design, construction and maintenance of buildings and infrastructure supporting to build in ways which are less harmful and destructive to become more achievable and affordable – developing post-industrial technologies, embracing to work with complexity and the messiness of practical reality. While the projects are rooted in a careful understanding of the place and it’s possible future they are thought and represented until the 1:1 scale of material and construction detail.
