The Ribeiro family, originally from Portugal, lived modestly but with dignity. José, the father, worked as a mason, while Maria, his wife, cared for their two children.
One day, José received an unexpected offer: a Swiss employer was looking for skilled workers for construction projects with promising wages. With courage and hope, the Ribeiro family left Portugal, leaving behind their customs.
Upon arriving in Switzerland, they were first faced with the challenge of adaptation. The language was a barrier, the harsh winters seemed endless, and the nostalgia for their homeland weighed heavily on them. Yet, despite it all, the Ribeiros persevered.
Today, the family feels as much Swiss as Portuguese and fully enjoys their life in Switzerland.
