Village-vacances de millénaristes en multipropriété
Placed at the edge of the fields of the Saclay Plateau and overlooking a sloping valley covered by forest, this building acts as a resilient sentry from a privileged control point over the territory. It has been conceived as a self-sufficient infrastructure, ready to resist the imminent economic collapse, while offering a unique accommodation for those who want to prepare for things to come. To limit its dependence to the surrounding civilization, the project is based on a series of empty slabs to be filled with shared living units, alongside the basic functions needed for their survival. In an initial building phase just the concrete skeleton structure is erected, resembling the appearance of an unfinished building; subsequently, the living units and the functional spaces are inserted like boxes in the shelves, until the point when the structure is completely filled. The V shape of the plan creates an enclosed courtyard where the corridors and kitchen spaces face to, increasing the sense of community and establishing a connection between units and functional spaces. The units themselves are built as insulated boxes, with a wooden structure and plywood walls, while the functional spaces — the materials workshop, the crops storage, a community kitchen and a multifunctional space — are defined by opaque walls of undulated polycarbonate.
