Petit Varèse is one of the few buildings renovated in le Mirail, in 2019. Developing planning tools to identify the main beneficiaries of such renovation measures according to fair criterias, we assessed that the decision-making process was primarily driven by the interests of the social landlord, Toulouse Métropole Habitat. This resulted in an unsustainable, unappreciated, and costly renovation. Learning from and critiquing this, Petit Varèse became the first entry in an open-source renovation logbook, aiming to introduce counter-metrics for a more equitable and sustainable renovation of Le Mirail.
