A SPACE TO BE A PLACE TO STAY - MOVEMENT I

Quentin Alexandre Nicolas Durand

A house is the simple topic of this studio. A matter of simple complexity.

Starting as reference from an architect’s drawing and a pavilion; constructing a “space to be”. Then making two houses, “a place to stay”. Two compact houses. Considering the existing as starting.

Learning about a house is learning about architecture.

A PLACE TO STAY

I
The starting point of the exercise is one sketch and one image of a pavilion from a remarkable architect. Together it will serve as a reference point to conceive and construct “A SPACE TO BE”. You will construct your own chapel, your shelter, your pavilion without any specific location or context. It will be “A SPACE TO BE” built by composition of constructive elements.
