Constructing Materials - Romand Rebar

Alexandros-Anastasios Trivizas

/ François Mégret, Lea Marzinzik

The UE: Constructing Materials shifts from the dominant view of buildings and materials as static objects and looks at how they come together, how they change through time/use, how they come apart, and/or where they end up. Using their architectural drawing skills for research the students followed construction materials to demonstrate how they rely on networks and things and places and people. They studied the material supply chains to trace the long process of material sourcing, from extraction to production to transportation on-site to construction. They further studied how these materials are constantly in a state of slow transformation and ion the process transform the environments around them.
