In the current state of the site, the various activities offered which focus more on tourism, fail to motivate visitors to return to the site.
Inspired by the events hosted for the “Montreux Jazz Festival” in the 1970s, our proposal is to offer a platform which will allow cultural events such as theater or concerts to take place on the crest. Analysis of the site reveals two areas of interest which offer exceptional views on the surrounding mountains. The station is situated close to its current placement, simply covered by a wood arch which follows the direction of the railway. On the south of the crest, the cafe-theatre is placed in the ground, taking advantage of the views towards the Rhone Valley.
The new building is constructed out of wood and glass, to remain as transparent as possible, with a large open plan. The glass façade can opened entirely on the north and south side, extending the space and allowing the exterior steps to be used as seating for the stage.
