Reclaiming Our City From Investors. Bankrolling the Commons as a Tool of (Re)Production

Housing is subjected to commodification, deepening the inequalities of access. Since the takeover of CS this spring, UBS has become the largest real-estate owner in the country. We argue that a nine billion-CHF state backup means the bank's real estate is state-owned. To house people, we transform these properties into commons. To subtract these spaces from the state and the speculative market, they are managed through trans-scalar governance by the inhabitants and for the inhabitants.
