Living Book

Alexandre Maxime Bron

After a study on angles, the research work evolved to a decomposition of such angles. The project developed around reference GAN images that could produce a new but coherent morphology for Zurich. By selecting a variety of angles from the existing buildings, we developed our approach with perspective images that show how two different facades connect in the angle. It is more a study of Zurichness morphology rather than Zurich facade composition.

The project showcases the explorations that allow the understanding of Zurichness in the context of the angle, where the facade composition naturally has a more minor role and the morphology is prominent. Our explorations also question what is an angle, in the context of Zurich. They allow for an exciting cross-over between Zurich’s more traditional Altstadt and its few more contemporary buildings, expressed through the curves and fully glassed facades.
