Skin of a lemon sun

Aim of our project is to reactivate, and reanimate the pharaonic inert mass of concrete of the bunker Bergerie lac in Gland (VD).
By a strategic and vertical architectural act, the bunker located in a poetic and rural landscape of the Lemanic shore will be reincarnated into a sub living lab.

Three vectors of circulation of the flows were raised and made eloquent: renewal of the air (chimney and pipes), sensual and corporal circulation (ladders, line, stairs) and light.

Light through light wells become the core, the main vertical vector of the horizontal upper extension of the bunker, the living cell.

Concrete mass is cut and forms a volumetric playout that spreads from the living cell to its inhabitable crown, the brick units and its playout of orientation as well as its tectonics becomes the main material of the reconstruction and creates various planes (private, public and in between).

The space then fragmented seems unified by the raw materiality and by light. Skin of a lemon sun !
