The taking care city

Deborah Zanolo

Geneva is a growing city, as well as for its population, its income or its urban fabric. But now, the question is, what is the city we should build? and how can it take care of its inhabitants, and more specifically the young population?

Differents questions has been asked to order my analysis :
Where are the centralities of the taking care facilities according to the population?
Are rich people searching for a proximity with the taking care facilities?
Is there a correlation between the form of the city and the taking care facilities?

To conclude, it can be said that the reason why the city has not enough leisure facilities is mainly because of the form of it. It is built or for specific activities, or for dwellings. but there is no real place for small proximity shops, such as my leisure category (hairdresser, restaurants, bars, beauty institutes). I think this is the main issue for the future city : learn to give space for self development. For the case of the green spaces, I think Geneva have a lot of potential because it is a city that is already very green (lots of trees and lawn). But the challenge here is to provide qualitative public green spaces, that the people can appropriate.
