The project is an attempt to offer a new appealing building to host the station and other functions at Rochers de Naye. The concept is to have one roof covering the station and the main building at the same time, working as a unifying element. The building is split into two volumes which blend in the landscape on two levels and respond therefore to the topography.
Each main function is oriented towards the views offered by the exceptional site. The structure is made out of primary and secondary wooden beams. The specificity is that they are curved, giving the roof its unique shape. It is also constructed above existing walls which serve as support and allow to avoid building new foundations. Linking spaces together, the construction is the new touristic and educational alpine spot above Montreux, welcoming locals, tourists, families and hikers.
